Lo glad that 'sickening' anti-Roma page has been removed

South Belfast Alliance MLA Anna Lo has said she is relieved that Facebook has removed a racist page focusing on Roma rose sellers in Northern Ireland. She says that the public was sickened and outraged that a site like this had been set up here.

Anna Lo MLA said: "This sickening and deeply hate-ridden site has appalled the community. I am glad that Facebook has removed it and I hope that people will realise that this type of behaviour brings shame on Northern Ireland.

Northern Ireland is a very welcoming place and we cannot let a few fools and thugs destroy our reputation globally.

We need to tackle racism here, and to do that it is essential that the new community relations strategy is agreed and implemented by the Stormont Executive."
